SEE our focus on diversity and inclusion

Ameren has built a nationally recognized diversity and inclusion initiative by fostering an environment in which individual perspectives are not just recognized, but valued. Our customers and communities are highly diverse, and our workforce commitment reflects that. Ameren provides free community resources to promote discussions about diversity and inclusion. DiversityInc CEO Luke Visconti has called ours “a model of an inclusive workplace.”

In 2017, Warner Baxter, chairman, president and CEO, Ameren, joined more than 150 CEOs from some of the world’s leading companies in signing the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion initiative. This is the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

We encourage community organizations, businesses and other groups to use tools such as Ameren's Discussions Across Differences video series to engage teams in conversations.

Employee Resource Groups

Each group gives co-workers an opportunity to connect with people who have common interests and backgrounds and enjoy a forum for open discussion of commonalities and differences. Employee resource groups are required to support Ameren’s business goals and objectives, provide community outreach and educate and engage employees as a part of their mission and annual strategic business plan.

About 11 percent of employees, including senior executives, belong to resource groups. These are:

  • Ameren Military Veteran Employees
  • Powering Connections for All Abilities
  • Ameren Network of Minority Employees
  • Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Employees & Allies Network
  • Multi-Generational Employee Resource Group
  • Women Influencing Success in Energy
